Physical and Chemical Properties | Colorless rhombohedral crystal fine particles or white powder crystals. The relative density was 2.25. It is a basic inorganic salt. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, ether. It is more stable than anhydrous sodium carbonate in air. After long-term exposure to air, it is easy to absorb the carbon dioxide in the air, and gradually becomes the half of the sodium carbonate (Na2CO3 · NaHCO3 · 2H2O). Water was lost when heated to about 100 °c and became anhydrous sodium carbonate. |
